Privacy Policy for Task Me Anything

Overview
Task Me Anything is a dad-joke-themed companion to Apple Reminders for iPhone and iPad. It is designed to work without an account, advertising, analytics, or a developer-operated server.
Michael Seneschal (the “Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) does not collect your reminders, task content, favorite jokes, app preferences, notification settings, photos, or purchase information through a developer-operated service. The app processes and stores this information on your device or through Apple services that you choose to use.
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or track you across apps or websites.
Information Used by the App
Apple Reminders
If you grant Reminders access, Task Me Anything can read and update information in Apple Reminders, including:
reminder titles and notes;
due dates and all-day status;
completion status;
recurrence information;
Reminder lists and list identifiers;
linked subtasks created by Task Me Anything; and
existing location-alarm details needed to identify and display location reminders.
This access is used to display, create, edit, reschedule, complete, and delete reminders at your direction. Your reminders remain in Apple Reminders and may sync through your private iCloud account according to your Apple settings.
Task Me Anything does not upload your reminder data to the Developer. The app does not request access to your live device location, track your movement, or run background location tracking. It can only display location-alarm information already attached to a reminder.
Local App Data
Task Me Anything stores the following information locally on your device as needed to provide its features:
onboarding completion;
an optional display name;
Dad Uniform theme selection;
visible and hidden Reminder list identifiers;
the last-used Reminder list;
notification preferences and selected notification times;
dad-joke shuffle state;
completion history and the 25-completion trial count;
saved favorite jokes and their associated task titles and completion dates; and
local purchase-access state needed to present the app correctly.
Most of this information is stored in the app's private container using Apple-provided storage such as UserDefaults. The total trial-completion count is also stored in the device Keychain so deleting and reinstalling the app on the same device does not restart the trial. This information is not transmitted to the Developer.
Favorite Joke iCloud Sync
Favorite jokes are stored locally. When iCloud key-value storage is available for Task Me Anything and enabled for your Apple account, the app may also store and synchronize favorites through your private iCloud key-value store.
A favorite can include the joke text, the associated task title, completion date, and saved date. This synchronization is provided by Apple. The Developer does not operate the storage service and cannot browse the contents of your private iCloud key-value store.
If iCloud is unavailable, Favorites continue to use local storage and may not appear on another device.
Local Notifications
If you grant notification permission and enable notification features, Task Me Anything schedules local notifications on your device for:
a daily dad joke;
upcoming due reminders; and
an optional overdue-task summary.
Notification content is generated and scheduled on your device. A task notification may contain a reminder title, and that content may be visible on your Lock Screen or in Notification Center depending on your system notification-preview settings.
The app does not use a push-notification server. Notification content is not sent to the Developer.
Photos and Sharing
When you choose to export a favorite joke, Task Me Anything creates a JPEG image in the app's temporary directory.
If you choose Save to Photos, the app requests add-only Photos permission and writes that image to your Photos library. It does not read or browse your photo library.
If you choose Share, the app presents Apple's system share sheet. You decide which person, app, or service receives the image.
Shared or saved copies remain wherever you choose to place them until you delete them there. The receiving app or service handles shared content under its own terms and privacy policy.
Purchases
Task Me Anything offers a one-time lifetime unlock through Apple's App Store using StoreKit.
Apple processes the purchase, payment method, receipt, refund, and App Store account information. The Developer does not receive or store your payment-card details. The app checks Apple-provided transaction entitlements on your device to determine whether lifetime access is active.
Purchases and restoration are subject to Apple's terms and privacy practices.
Widget
The Task Me Anything Home Screen widget displays a dad joke bundled with the app. It selects the joke using the calendar day. The widget does not display or transmit your reminders, Favorites, display name, or completion history.
Information the Developer Receives
Support Communications
The app does not automatically send personal information to the Developer. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, which may include:
your email address and name;
the contents of your message;
device model and operating-system version;
app version and build number;
screenshots or attachments; and
reminder or task details that you voluntarily include.
We use this information only to answer your request, investigate a problem, prevent abuse, or improve the app. Please do not include sensitive reminder content or other personal information unless it is necessary for your support request.
Support messages are not sold or used for advertising. They may be processed by the email providers used by you and the Developer under those providers' own terms and privacy policies.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Task Me Anything currently includes:
no analytics or telemetry SDK;
no advertising SDK or advertising network;
no third-party crash-reporting SDK;
no cross-app tracking;
no account system;
no social-media SDK; and
no developer-operated network service or database.
The app uses Apple system frameworks, including EventKit, UserNotifications, Photos, StoreKit, WidgetKit, and iCloud key-value storage when available. Apple's handling of information through its services is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because the Developer does not receive your app data, we do not maintain a developer-controlled database of reminders, Favorites, preferences, photos, notification content, or purchase records.
You can manage or delete data as follows:
Reminders: Edit or delete reminders in Task Me Anything or Apple Reminders. Removing Task Me Anything does not delete reminders stored in Apple Reminders.
Favorites: Delete Favorites from the Favorites screen. The app saves the updated collection locally and attempts to synchronize the deletion through iCloud key-value storage when available.
Local preferences and history: Deleting Task Me Anything removes its local app container and locally stored preferences, completion history, and trial state from that device. Data held separately by Apple services may remain under Apple's retention rules.
Notifications: Turn notification features off in Task Me Anything or revoke notification permission in system Settings. You can clear previously delivered notifications from Notification Center.
Photos: Delete exported joke images from Photos or from any destination where you shared or saved them.
Purchases: App Store purchase history and entitlements are maintained by Apple and are not deleted by removing the app.
Support email: You may ask us to delete a support conversation by emailing michael.seneschal@gmail.com. We will delete it when reasonably possible unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
There is no Task Me Anything account to close or developer-hosted task database to delete.
Your Choices and Permissions
You can use iOS or iPadOS Settings to change permissions at any time:
Reminders: Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders
Notifications: Settings → Notifications → Task Me Anything
Photos: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos
iCloud: Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud
Revoking a permission may disable the related feature but does not send data to the Developer or delete information already stored by Apple. For example, revoking Reminders access stops Task Me Anything from reading reminders but does not delete them from Apple Reminders.
Security
Task Me Anything relies on the iOS and iPadOS application sandbox and Apple system services to restrict access to app data. No method of storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, but the app minimizes risk by not operating a server or transmitting your task content to the Developer.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device, Apple Account, notification previews, exported images, and any destination to which you share content.
Children's Privacy
Task Me Anything is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed specifically to children under 13. The app does not create accounts or collect personal information through a developer-operated service. If you believe a child has sent personal information through a support email, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app's features or data practices change. The updated policy will be posted at the same public location with a revised effective date. If a change materially affects how the app handles information, the policy and relevant App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that behavior is released.
