# Task Me Anything Support

your Task Me Anything version and build number from Settings → About & Privacy;
your iPhone or iPad model;
your iOS or iPadOS version;
what you expected to happen;
what happened instead; and
the steps that reproduce the problem, if known.
Screenshots are welcome, but please remove or cover private reminder titles, notes, locations, and notification content before sending them unless those details are necessary to explain the issue.
About Task Me Anything
Task Me Anything is a dad-joke-themed companion to Apple Reminders. Your lists and tasks remain in Apple Reminders. The app provides a focused To-Done view, task editing, Make Smaller subtasks, Later scheduling, completion jokes, Favorites, optional local notifications, a Home Screen widget, and a one-time lifetime unlock after a 25-completion trial.
There is no Task Me Anything account or subscription.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Task Me Anything need Full Access to Reminders?
Full Access allows the app to show your Reminder lists and tasks and to create, edit, reschedule, complete, or delete a reminder when you ask it to. Task Me Anything does not upload your reminders to the Developer or a custom server.
You can change access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders. If access is disabled, Reminder-based features will not work, but your tasks remain safely in Apple Reminders.
Why are some of my lists or tasks missing?
Check the following:
Confirm that Task Me Anything has Full Access to Reminders.
Open Task Me Anything → Settings → Apple Reminders and make sure the relevant list is enabled under Show These Lists.
Pull down to refresh the To-Done or List screen.
Open Apple Reminders and confirm the task still exists and belongs to the expected list.
The To-Done screen is intentionally focused. It shows tasks due today, overdue tasks, and certain undated location reminders. Open the Lists tab to browse all incomplete top-level tasks in a visible list.
Subtasks created by Make Smaller are kept out of normal top-level results so they do not appear twice.
Do changes sync back to Apple Reminders?
Yes. Creating, editing, completing, rescheduling, or deleting a task changes the underlying Apple Reminder. If your Apple Reminders are configured to sync with iCloud, Apple handles that synchronization across your devices.
Task Me Anything does not operate a separate task-sync server.
Can I create or edit location reminders?
Task Me Anything can identify and display an existing location alarm attached to a reminder, but it cannot currently create or edit location alarms. Use Apple Reminders to change the location trigger.
How does Make Smaller work?
Make Smaller creates linked subtasks as separate reminders in the parent task's Apple Reminders list. You can add, rename, complete, or delete those subtasks from the Make Smaller sheet.
Because they are real Apple Reminders, they may also be visible in Apple's app. Task Me Anything hides them from its normal top-level task lists and shows them with their parent workflow instead.
What does Later do?
Later moves a task to the next soft time block:
Morning: 9:00 AM
Afternoon: 1:00 PM
Evening: 6:00 PM
An evening task moves to tomorrow morning. Overdue and undated tasks move to the next future block. The updated reminder becomes timed, even if it was previously all-day.
After using Later, a five-second banner lets you undo the change and restore the previous due date and all-day setting.
How does the 25-completion trial work?
The trial includes the full app for the first 25 tasks completed inside Task Me Anything. The 25th task still completes normally and shows its dad-joke reward card. The lifetime-unlock screen appears after a later app activation or relaunch.
Only completions performed inside Task Me Anything count toward this trial. Completing a reminder directly in Apple Reminders does not change the app's trial count.
The total trial-completion count is protected in the device Keychain. Deleting and reinstalling Task Me Anything on the same device does not restart the trial.
Is the lifetime unlock a subscription?
No. It is a one-time, non-consumable App Store purchase. The app displays the current localized price provided by Apple before purchase. There are no recurring subscription charges.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Task Me Anything and choose Restore Purchases from the unlock screen or purchase area in Settings. Make sure the device is signed into the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.
If access is still locked after a successful charge:
Confirm the purchase appears in your Apple purchase history.
Restart Task Me Anything.
Try Restore Purchases again.
Contact support with the app version, device and OS version, and a description of the result. Do not email payment-card information.
Apple processes all payments. The Developer cannot view or change your payment method.
How do I enable daily jokes or task reminders?
Open Task Me Anything → Settings → Notifications, allow notification access, and enable the features you want.
Daily morning joke schedules a repeating local joke notification at your selected time.
Give due tasks a dad check-in schedules local notifications for eligible upcoming tasks.
Overdue dad check-in adds an optional summary for overdue tasks.
All notification features are off by default. Task notifications also require Full Access to Reminders and honor the lists enabled under Show These Lists.
Why am I getting duplicate task notifications?
Apple Reminders and Task Me Anything can both notify you about the same task. If you prefer Task Me Anything's dad check-ins, consider turning off the corresponding Apple Reminders notifications in system Settings. Alternatively, leave Apple Reminders notifications enabled and turn off Task Me Anything task notifications.
Why aren't notifications appearing?
Check that:
notifications are allowed in Settings → Notifications → Task Me Anything;
the desired notification feature is enabled inside Task Me Anything;
Full Access to Reminders is enabled if task notifications are missing;
the relevant Reminder list is enabled under Show These Lists;
Focus, Do Not Disturb, or Scheduled Summary is not delaying the notification; and
the reminder's due date is in the future and within the app's scheduling window.
Task Me Anything uses local notifications only. It does not use a push-notification server.
Why does the daily notification repeat the same joke?
The joke is selected when the repeating notification is scheduled. It can remain the same until Task Me Anything rebuilds that notification schedule. Changing the daily-joke time or turning the daily joke off and back on schedules a new joke.
The Home Screen widget uses a separate daily selection and changes after the next calendar day begins.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
Tap Edit or the Add Widget button.
Search for Task Me Anything.
Choose the small or medium widget.
Tap Add Widget.
The widget displays one bundled dad joke for the calendar day. It does not display your tasks or Favorites and does not currently use the selected Dad Uniform theme.
If it appears stale, wait until after midnight, open Task Me Anything once, or remove and add the widget again. iOS controls the exact widget refresh time.
Where are Favorites stored?
Favorites are stored locally on your device. When iCloud key-value storage is available for Task Me Anything, Favorites may also synchronize through your private iCloud account.
If a Favorite does not appear on another device, confirm that both devices use the same Apple Account and have iCloud available, then open Task Me Anything on both devices and allow time for Apple to synchronize the data. Local Favorites remain available when iCloud is unavailable, but cross-device sync is not guaranteed.
How do I delete a Favorite?
Open Favorites, enter edit mode, and delete the desired item. The app updates local storage and attempts to synchronize the deletion through iCloud key-value storage when available.
Deleting a Favorite does not delete the original task from Apple Reminders or an exported image from Photos.
How do I share a Favorite or save it to Photos?
Open Favorites and tap a saved joke. Choose Share to use Apple's system share sheet or Save to Photos to add a 1080 × 1080 JPEG to your Photos library.
Task Me Anything requests add-only Photos permission. It does not browse your photo library. If saving fails, confirm Photos access under Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
How do I change the Dad Uniform theme?
Open Task Me Anything → Settings → Dad Uniform and choose a theme. The theme changes the app and newly exported Favorite images. The Home Screen widget currently uses its own fixed orange-and-cream appearance.
How do I reset onboarding?
Open Task Me Anything → Settings → Reset Onboarding. This presents the introductory flow again. It does not delete Apple Reminders, Favorites, purchase history, or other app data.
How do I delete my data?
Delete tasks in Task Me Anything or Apple Reminders.
Delete saved jokes from the Favorites screen.
Delete exported joke images from Photos or their sharing destination.
Turn notification features off in the app or revoke notification permission in system Settings.
Delete Task Me Anything to remove its local preferences, Favorites cache, completion history, and trial state from that device.
Deleting Task Me Anything does not delete tasks stored in Apple Reminders, images already saved to Photos, App Store purchase history, or information retained by Apple services.

Privacy and Security
Task Me Anything has no account system, advertising, analytics SDK, or developer-operated task server. Your reminders remain in Apple Reminders, and purchases are processed by Apple.
