Trophy Water Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Trophy Water handles information when you use the Trophy Water iOS app.
Trophy Water is designed as a private fishing logbook and planning tool. The app does not require a Trophy Water account, does not include a public social feed, does not include advertising, and does not use a third-party analytics SDK.
Information You Can Store In The App
Trophy Water lets you create private fishing records. Depending on how you use the app, those records may include:
• Catches, trip recaps, trip plans, saved waters, and custom field-guide content.
• Dates, times, notes, lure and presentation details, condition details, measurements, and species information.
• Photos that you add to catch records.
• Approximate or precise locations that you choose to save with catches, waters, trips, or plans.
• Weather, water, map, attribution, and public-data context saved with your records.
This information is stored on your device. If iCloud is available and enabled for Trophy Water, your private app data can sync through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit/iCloud services.
Location
Trophy Water may ask for Location permission so it can help with nearby waters, catch locations, weather, water conditions, map context, depth or stocking references, and trip planning.
Location use is optional. Trophy Water does not use background location tracking. The app uses location only while you are using the app or when you choose a location manually.
If you save a location in a catch, trip, plan, or water record, that location becomes part of your private journal data.
Camera And Photos
Trophy Water may ask for Camera access so you can take catch photos or use camera-assisted measurement features where supported.
Trophy Water may use the system photo picker so you can choose photos to add to your private records. If you choose to save an app photo back to Photos, iOS may ask for Photos permission. If Photos access is unavailable, the photo can still remain saved inside the catch record.
iCloud And CloudKit
Trophy Water can use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services to sync your private app data between devices signed in to your Apple Account. The developer does not operate a separate journal server for Trophy Water and does not have a developer-operated backend that can read your private fishing journal.
iCloud availability depends on your device settings, Apple Account state, iCloud storage, network availability, and Apple's services.
Purchases
Trophy Water uses Apple's StoreKit and App Store purchase system for Lifetime Access. Apple processes purchases, refunds, payment methods, tax, and billing. Trophy Water does not receive or store your payment-card details.
The app uses StoreKit purchase and entitlement status to unlock Lifetime Access, restore purchases, and respond to refunded or revoked transactions.
Apple And Public Data Services
Some Trophy Water features request data from Apple services and public data services. These services may receive the information needed to answer the request, such as selected coordinates, visible map regions, water-related search terms, station or tile requests, device network information, and your IP address.
Services used by current app features can include:
• Apple WeatherKit for weather forecasts and weather context.
• Apple MapKit and local search for maps, water search, and map-related context.
• Apple StoreKit for purchases and restore-purchase state.
• Apple iCloud/CloudKit for private sync when enabled.
• USGS water data services for stream-gage and water-condition references where available.
• NOAA services for coastal, Great Lakes, tide, current, chart, and water-condition references where available.
• USGS topographic map services.
• State agency and public open-data services, including state stocking and inland bathymetry sources where available.
These external services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Exporting And Sharing
Trophy Water includes user-initiated export and sharing features so your data remains portable. When you export, share, save, message, email, upload, or otherwise send app data to another app or service, that destination controls the copy you choose to send.
You do not need to include private fishing locations, journal notes, or photos in support requests unless you choose to share them for troubleshooting.
Advertising, Tracking, And Analytics
Trophy Water does not include advertising, does not use the advertising identifier, does not sell your data, and does not use a third-party analytics SDK.
Trophy Water is not designed to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Data Deletion And Retention
You can delete records inside Trophy Water. You can also delete the app from your device to remove local app data from that device.
If iCloud sync has been enabled, synced app data may remain in your private iCloud account until it is removed from iCloud according to Apple's iCloud controls and retention behavior. Apple may also retain purchase, billing, crash, diagnostic, and service records according to Apple's policies.
Exported or shared copies are controlled by the destination you selected.
Children
Trophy Water is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Safety And Regulations
Trophy Water is a planning and reference tool. Weather, maps, depth, stocking, tide, current, stream-gage, and other public data can be incomplete, delayed, revised, or unavailable. Trophy Water is not legal, safety, navigation, or regulatory guidance. Always follow current laws, posted rules, safe boating practices, and official agency guidance.
Changes To This Policy
This policy may be updated as Trophy Water changes. The updated version will be posted at the public URL listed above.
